Mass of the 20th century was said, on the 31st August 1902.
In 1956 the present church was completed and dedicated by Bishop Leo Parker. In October 1962 St Peter's officially became a parish. From 1937 to 1965 Father Edmond O'Gorman was parish priest. During this time he had a wooden hut built where the Hall now stands, to accommodate an increasing congregation. St Peter's today serves approximately 1200 parish families.
